Once again, the Delhi High Court declined to impose a halt to the streaming on an OTT platform of the movie Nyay: The Justice, which was based on the life of Sushant Singh Rajput. This time, Sushant Singh Rajput’s father has submitted a petition in his lawsuit against the filmmakers asking for an interlocutory injunction. However, the court emphasized that because it was published in 2021 and may have already been seen by thousands of people, a potential ban cannot be implemented.

Justice C. Hari Shankar rejected the argument in court, saying that it was contradictory to attach a legal right to something as transient as fame. Law cannot let itself to serve as a platform for the celebrity culture. In our constitutional system, which ensures individual equality and places equality as a prized preambular objective, it does not seem appropriate to allow an additional package of rights that would be accessible for enjoyment exclusively by celebrities.<img decoding=”async” class=”alignnone wp-image-73783″ src=”https://www.theindiaprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/07/www.theindiaprint.com-the-delhi-high-court-rejects-a-stay-on-the-sushant-singh-rajput-biopic-nyay-the-justice-download-2023-07-13t174745.884.jpg” alt=”” width=”1280″ height=”959″ srcset=”https://www.theindiaprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/07/www.theindiaprint.com-the-delhi-high-court-rejects-a-stay-on-the-sushant-singh-rajput-biopic-nyay-the-justice-download-2023-07-13t174745.884.jpg 259w, https://www.theindiaprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/07/www.theindiaprint.com-the-delhi-high-court-rejects-a-stay-on-the-sushant-singh-rajput-biopic-nyay-the-justice-download-2023-07-13t174745.884-150×112.jpg 150w” sizes=”(max-width: 1280px) 100vw, 1280px” />
