With the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation’s (DMRC) most recent upgrade, purchasing tickets for the Delhi Metro has gotten more simpler.
According to a formal announcement, users of DMRC services may now purchase metro QR code tickets using the IRCTC app. According to the press release, “In a strategic alliance, IRCTC and Delhi DMRC have united to elevate passenger convenience.” This partnership intends to implement IRCTC portal-based QR code-based ticketing for DMRC services in line with the broad “One India-One Ticket” policy.

According to the official release, “ONE INDIA-ONE TICKET INITIATIVE! In order to improve the comfort and simplicity of travel for passengers, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed today by the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) and the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC).

You may now easily receive QR code-based tickets for DMRC trips if you use the IRCTC website to purchase tickets for trains, aircraft, or buses. Use the Electronic Reservation Slip (ERS) provided by IRCTC and pay the nominal charge of Rs 5. You won’t have to wait through large lines this way, giving you more time to take in your trip spots.

The Delhi Metro previously announced some interesting changes for Pink Line users, particularly those who often use the Sarojini Nagar Metro station. The entrance and exit locations have been altered by the DMRC. The station now has more entrances and exits to accommodate the increasing number of commuters, particularly on weekends. By removing the need for lengthy queues and saving commuters’ time, the objective is to increase travel convenience.

In highlighting the significance of this substantial alliance, IRCTC Chairman and Managing Director Seema Kumar said, “Through this collaboration with DMRC, we are dedicated to connecting different modes of transportation, ultimately delivering unprecedented advantages to passengers.”

The Managing Director of DMRC, Dr. Vikas Kumar, agreed and added, “This initiative not only guarantees passengers a hassle-free experience but also targets a reduction in congestion at DMRC stations by minimizing dependence on conventional ticketing.”
