Simon O’Donnell, a former Australian cricket player, voiced his dissatisfaction with the New Zealand team’s on-field behaviour during Wednesday’s high-profile semifinal match against India. O’Donnell made the suggestion that he didn’t like Virat Kohli’s teammates from New Zealand supporting him during his cramping spell, which allowed Kohli to go on and achieve an unprecedented 50th and last ODI century. At Wankhede Stadium, the humidity made it difficult for the players to battle through the camps while batting, and Kohli too had some difficulty in the middle. In the meanwhile, he received some aid from New Zealand, who are regarded as the nice guys in the cricket world, by picking up his bat.<img decoding=”async” class=”alignnone wp-image-280595″ src=”https://www.theindiaprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/11/theindiaprint.com-all-information-about-the-upcoming-hashtags-feature-on-x-rival-threads-app-simon-o-750×375.jpg” alt=”theindiaprint.com all information about the upcoming hashtags feature on x rival threads app simon o” width=”1476″ height=”738″ title=”Simon O'Donnell Critiques Players from New Zealand 3″ srcset=”https://www.theindiaprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/11/theindiaprint.com-all-information-about-the-upcoming-hashtags-feature-on-x-rival-threads-app-simon-o-750×375.jpg 750w, https://www.theindiaprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/11/theindiaprint.com-all-information-about-the-upcoming-hashtags-feature-on-x-rival-threads-app-simon-o-1024×512.jpg 1024w, https://www.theindiaprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/11/theindiaprint.com-all-information-about-the-upcoming-hashtags-feature-on-x-rival-threads-app-simon-o-768×384.jpg 768w, https://www.theindiaprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/11/theindiaprint.com-all-information-about-the-upcoming-hashtags-feature-on-x-rival-threads-app-simon-o-150×75.jpg 150w, https://www.theindiaprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/11/theindiaprint.com-all-information-about-the-upcoming-hashtags-feature-on-x-rival-threads-app-simon-o.jpg 1200w” sizes=”(max-width: 1476px) 100vw, 1476px” />

The Indian batting virtuoso, according to O’Donnell, was smashing the New Zealanders, and when he was experiencing cramps, their teammates ran over to help him.

“Last night, I encountered issues a few times. When Virat Kohli has a cramp when they are approaching 400, other guys stop to assist him. When Virat Kohli experienced a cramp, why would you go and assist him? when they want to reach 400. during a semifinal World Cup match. Playing within the law is part of the spirit of the game. You want to go over and help Virat Kohli because he’s ripping your nation apart, O’Donnell said on SEN Breakfast.

With his outstanding innings against New Zealand, Kohli became the first player in history to reach 50 ODI hundreds. India also advanced to the competition final with a convincing 70-run victory in Mumbai.

The former all-rounder for Australia went on to highlight the incident in which a player from New Zealand picked up Kohli’s bat after it had fallen to the ground and handed it to him.

One of the Kiwis went to pick up his bat after he chucked it. Even when you have a cramp and a strained hamstring, go pick up your own bat. Give up striking us with fours and sixes. It is not really significant. That doesn’t go against the essence of the game. It’s a competitive attitude that asks, “Well, he’s facing physical challenges, so why are we helping him stay physically fit so he can beat us up?” I just don’t get it. Things supporting him: in a World Cup Semi-Final, he’s already achieved fifty One-Day hundreds; why not assist him reach his fiftyth against you? “Send me a spell,” he continued.
