<p>New Delhi: In the third Test match between India and England now underway at the Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Rajkot, Indian captain Rohit Sharma hammered his eleventh Test century. India was under strain after losing three wickets in a row when the captain hit his century. On 157 balls, the 36-year-old scored 100 runs.</p>

<p>Currently, England is batting with Ravindra Jadeja and Rohit and are having difficulty making another breakthrough. Jadeja is almost to his fourth test tone as well.</p>
<p>James Anderson and Mark Wood had perfect lines and lengths at the beginning of the workout. Despite the early dampness, Yashasvi Jaiswal and Rohit established some fast boundaries with little swing.</p>
<p>Jaiswal was taken off guard by Wood’s slanted ball, which caused the left-hander to barely edge behind and concede first slip. In the subsequent over, Wood had wicketkeeper Ben Foakes uncomfortable with a good-length ball from Shubman Gill.</p>
<p>In the ninth over, Hartley got a ball to leap off a length, which gripped and twisted extremely sharply to catch Rajat Patidar’s edge towards cover, giving England their third wicket. With three fielders positioned deep on the leg-side after Wood struck him in the helmet grille during a short-ball play, Rohit attempted to unnerve Hartley by attempting a cut and sweep for boundaries.</p>
<p>In the same over, Joe Root fumbled his catch at first slip on an attempted slog, giving him a life at 27. As Rohit was dancing down the field against Anderson and avoided a near LBW call, luck was once again on his side.</p>
<p>To achieve his fifty in 71 balls, Rohit then displayed his attractive punch, loft down the pitch, pull, and sweep. On the other end, Jadeja proved to be a reliable companion for Rohit as he led India’s comeback, driving and hitting Root for two fours. Jadeja was despatched ahead of debutants Sarfaraz Khan and Dhruv Jurel.</p>
