As India looks to seal the series, one ex-England captain compares Kuldeep Yadav to the late Shane Warne

Ranchi: With four significant wickets on Day 3 of the upcoming Fourth Test, Kuldeep Yadav was a vital contributor to India’s victory. In the second innings, he claimed four wickets for 22 runs, but even though the visitors led by 46 runs, his timely removals rattled the spine of the English batting order. Michael Vaughan, a former captain of England, praised Kuldeep highly and likened him to the late Shane Warne.

Viaughan wrote on social networking site X (formerly known as Twitter), saying, “The best compliment I can give @imkuldeep18…” He bowled today like to a left-handed Shane Warne. The Delhi Capitals, Kuldeep’s IPL team, also shared the same in response to Vaughan’s remarks. Vaughan retweeted a message from the Delhi Capitals, saying, “He would have loved how Kuldeep bowled today.”

In addition to his skill with the ball, Kuldeep deserves praise for his batting during India’s first innings. When Dhruv Jurel was beginning to run out of partners, Kuldeep held his ground at the other end and amassed a vital 76 runs for the eighth wicket to prevent India from giving the opposition a larger advantage. His 28 off 131 balls is also deserving of praise.

England gave up in front of Kuldeep and Ravichandran Ashwin (5/51) despite being up by 46 runs, giving India 192 runs in the fourth innings. With all 10 wickets in hand, the hosts need only 152 runs more to win the match and the series.

Alastair Cook, a former captain of England, too had nothing but praise for the Indian spinners. Cook said to TNT Sports, “I think that’s what a lot of us were worried about before the series.” “Today we’ve seen India’s spinners causing chaos on a turning pitch.”

“England must be at it for four whole days in order to win a Test against this Indian squad in their own circumstances. For the last two and a half days, they have been excellent, but during those final few hours, they were off, and India has quickly entered. There is a mountain for England to climb, he said.

England’s lone victory in the series came in the first game, which they won by a score of 28 runs in Hyderabad. On March 7, the fifth and final Test will get underway in Dharamsala.
