At seventeen years old, Pooja Bhatt debuted as an actress in 1989’s “Daddy,” which was directed by her father, Mahesh Bhatt. She performed alongside Anupam Kher in the movie. Her breakthrough Bollywood film, “Dil Hai Ke Manta Nahin” (1991), starring Aamir Khan, was also her greatest solo success.

“After Daddy, Dil Hai Ki Manta Nahi, and Sadak were super hits, at the age of 19, I was a superstar and at the age of 24, the industry said ‘it’s over’ so, I said ‘Yeh hai Duniya,’” Pooja Bhatt stated in a recent interview. In India, this is the only sector where you can achieve celebrity at the age of 24, when most people are just starting out. You’ve already been tossed into the pit and told that your task is done.”

Pooja Bhatt said that she began her journey into directing at the age of 25 after quitting performing. “I created ‘Tamanna’ and started my own production company when I was 25 years old. I felt a sense of accomplishment. I met people all throughout the nation, filmed a movie that collected money for charities, won a national award, and then starred with Kajol in “Dushman” and “Zakhm.”

In addition, Pooja Bhatt said that she was solely producing and directing movies for 21 years, during which time she avoided being in front of the camera. Pooja said that she has come to terms with the reality that her days as a famous person are behind her and that she is now a film producer. Pooja debuted Sunny Leone in her final movie, “Jism 2,” which came out in 2012.

Pooja Bhatt made her acting comeback in 2021 with Netflix’s “Bombay Begums,” after almost two decades away from the glamor world. “I thought it was over for me,” she said, “but then Bornila Chatterjee and Alankrita Srivastava sent me the script for Bombay Begums.” I informed them that I was no longer an actor and that I had closed this door. I was requested to read it, however. It was incredible, in my opinion, when I read it. I have to act in this part. I returned after a 21-year hiatus.”

She had an appearance in the movie “Chup: Revenge of the Artist” in 2022. She competed in ‘Bigg Boss OTT 2’ in 2023 and finished as the fourth runner-up of the season.
