The Hyundai Motor India Foundation (HMIF) is the organization behind this event, which strives to empower and increase awareness of those with disabilities. The five-match series will pit the Indian Men’s Blind Cricket Team against their Sri Lankan counterparts. It is being organized by the Cricket Association for the Blind in India and the Samathanam Trust for the Disabled, HMIF’s NGO partner.

According to the press release, the matches are expected to excite spectators at the Karnail Singh Stadium in New Delhi from March 11 to March 15, 2024.

Mr. Puneet Anand, AVP & Vertical Head, Corporate Affairs, Hyundai Motor India Limited, stated: “HMIL launched the Samarth initiative in November 2023, guided by our global vision of ‘Progress for Humanity.’” This effort aims to raise awareness, provide opportunities, and build a more inclusive society for those with disabilities. To assist visually challenged cricket players, HMIF has teamed up with “Samarthnam Trust for the Disabled” under the auspices of Hyundai’s “Creating Shared Values” (CSV) directive of “Continue.” In India, cricket is more than just a sport; it is a pillar of our shared culture. Thus, to better uphold and advance disability equality in society, we have selected Blind Cricket. With great pleasure, we present the India-Sri Lanka International Bilateral Blind Men’s Cricket Series. Hyundai Motor India is dedicated to the comprehensive development of India and strives to construct a more compassionate society via its social endeavors, emphasizing the principles of “Earth,” “Mobility,” and “Hope.” We hope to see some amazing on-field performances and are looking forward to an exciting series.

The Complete Guide to the Samuel Initiative
The “Samarth” program, which was introduced in November 2023, uses mobility to promote an inclusive and progressive society. The first car manufacturer to launch an inclusive mobility initiative on a large scale is Hyundai Motor India. Because “Samarth” guarantees universal digital accessibility, those with impairments may easily navigate the website. The firm promises to make its physical facilities accessible to those with disabilities and to make sure its online presence is accessible to everybody. Furthermore, Hyundai is working with MOBIS to produce swivel seats and accessories that will make its automobiles more accessible to those with disabilities.

HMIF AND SAMARTHANAM TRUST FOR THE DISABLED PARTNERSHIP
Samarthanam Trust for the Disabled and Hyundai Motor India Foundation (HMIF) collaborated on “Samarth by Hyundai.” The partnership provides assistive technology to people with disabilities and leverages blind cricket as a means of fostering social and physical growth.

To provide visually impaired cricket players with more important platforms to display their skills, HMIF will host the International Bilateral series and arrange training camps for them. Hyundai is dedicated to the “Earth,” “Mobility,” and “Hope” pillars for India’s holistic progress in addition to the sector.
